Sorenson Forensics Renews Partnership on Second Season of Cold Justice
SALT LAKE CITY (January 22, 2014) – Sorenson Forensics today announced the company has renewed its partnership with Magical Elves, Inc. and Wolf Reality, LLC and will continue providing advanced forensic and DNA services for real-life crime series “Cold Justice,” which airs Fridays at 8/7c on TNT.
The first season of “Cold Justice” was one of basic cable’s top five unscripted shows for the quarter it debuted and averaged 2.5 million viewers. The show features former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime-scene investigator Yolanda McClary, who work closely with local law enforcement across the country to reexamine unsolved cases. As with the first season, Sorenson Forensics will continue to lend its innovative services and expertise as the primary DNA laboratory used to collect and analyze the DNA evidence for cases featured on the show.
“We are honored to continue our work with the ‘Cold Justice’ investigative teams on their search for answers, and this season we will dedicate even more resources toward examining the evidence that will ultimately help investigators conclusively rule out or confirm suspects,” said Camilla Green, business development manager and forensics DNA expert at Sorenson Forensics. “We are excited this show is such a success, because it raises awareness of the backlog of cold cases around the country and allows the opportunity for cases that might have otherwise remained unsolved to get a second look and benefit from advances made in forensic technologies and procedures.”
Sorenson Forensics is a leading provider of advanced forensic and DNA services, and utilizes an array of technologies and procedures to extract and profile even the faintest amount of DNA evidence from a crime scene. Over the course of the two seasons, Sorenson Forensics has used all available resources to advance justice on cases featured on “Cold Justice” including the M-Vac system, which uses a sophisticated wet-vacuum sampling device to collect significant amounts of DNA from immovable surfaces, and highly sensitive Touch DNA sample collection kits to determine who last touched a piece of evidence by gathering the most recent DNA from a surface.
The 10-episode second season of “Cold Justice” airs Fridays at 8/7c on TNT. For more information about the program, visit: http://www.coldjustice.com.
